ISO 14001 Internal Auditor Training & Certification

Course Duration: 3 Days - 8 Hours/day

Omnex is an Exemplar Global–certified TPECS provider for EM and AU competency units. This interactive five-day course prepares participants to audit Environmental Management Systems (EMS) against ISO 14001:2026.

This course emphasizes how ISO 14001 works in practice, helping participants connect requirements to real organizational risks, environmental impacts, and compliance obligations. Through case studies and hands-on exercises, participants will develop the ability to identify meaningful nonconformities, assess system effectiveness, and add value through the audit process.

Auditing principles and practices based on ISO 19011:2018 are integrated throughout, including audit planning, conducting interviews, writing nonconformity statements, and verifying corrective actions.

Successful completion of the course and examinations results in Certificates of Attainment for:

  • Exemplar Global EM
  • Exemplar Global AU

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define ISO 14001:2026 and EMS fundamentals, including intended outcomes and the role of environmental management in organizational success
  • Interpret and apply ISO 14001 requirements using the Harmonized Structure (formerly known as the High Level Structure), risk-based thinking, and continual improvement principles
  • Analyze organizational context, including environmental conditions, internal and external issues, and interested parties, and how these translate into compliance obligations
  • Apply key EMS concepts, including environmental aspects, life cycle considerations, and emergency preparedness
  • Evaluate organizational objectives, planning actions, and alignment with ISO 14001 requirements
  • Apply the audit process (ISO 19011) to plan, conduct, report, and follow up on internal audits
  • Identify and document nonconformities and assess corrective actions
  • Gather and evaluate audit evidence related to competence, awareness, operational control, and system performance
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of an EMS
